A colleague of mine in Northern New Jersey, Julia Yong-hee Park, Esq., just informed me that she has been hard at work organizing a free conference that will be featuring an amazing panel of autism experts.
Autism in the Korean-American Community: Beginning of a Dialogue will take place at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck, New Jersey, on Saturday, June 16, 2012. The conference begins at 1:00 PM and runs through 5:00 PM.
The following experts will be on the panel:
- Young-shin Kim, M.D., Associate Professor at the Child Study Center, Yale School of Medicine
- Bennett Levinthal, Ph.D., Deputy Director of Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research
- Elizabeth Harriman, Bilingual speech therapist
- Elizabeth Roberts, Ph.D., Neuropsychologist at NYU Child Study Team
More information about each of these individuals may be found here.
The conference is free, but RSVP is required. There will be a simultaneous interpreter present to translate the English portions of the presentation into Korean.
If you or someone you know speaks native Korean, please share this information with them and RSVP your seat via email.
